I was a Ruan Bobcat shuttle driver for 3 years and it was the easiest company gig I had ever had, I bought my own truck and ended up getting my own authority after dealing with shady people to much and being able to call my own shots, now I pretty much specifically power only for Ruan on the bobcat account. I also left as a company driver due to the micro management, but the main reason for that has left Ruan and it will be interesting to see how that goes. And yes they have driver facing cameras now in their trucks. They lost a bunch of drivers over that move, which is fine by me because it keeps power only busy

Yup, I remember seeing a few power only guys in Bismarck - often times a particular flat top Pete 389. And RUAN subbed to ATS and some other outsiders a lot. I'd buy a truck and do power only on the runs to the NW (which most guys hate to do it seemed) and back if I knew who/how, because I did love the work and the quick turn-around (though winters were brutal!).

I used to pad my miles with the ever-present interplant loads before heading home, Jeff always had stuff for me to do. It was KILL!

Was the change you ref'd in the safety dept? I'm glad to hear that I wasn't the only cat who thought the micro-stuff was over-bearing. Take that factor away and that job would be: Score: 10/10.

Its about 1/2 power only right now, I ran a Otsego to Gwinner last night and back through to St Cloud which is a new storage warehouse they use for machines they don't have all the parts for. Got offered the same today but am bringing the truck into the shop to have some work done and using that as a time to get my own work done around the house. There is some nice rigs that run power only mine is a flat top 379 that is missing the sleeper right now, but there is some real nice rigs. The pay ain't the greatest but it's mostly consistent and easy so I take it.
The management has changed on the drivers side with no replacement yet so we will see how that works out, safety department is still the same but I think they have kinda laid off some of the BS they were doing when I was a company guy
