I’d work with felons, but I’m not going to Boston.

Most Lowes are near major roadways here in the Northeast. None in downtown Boston as many think or even the big cities that I can remember. Dollar general was mentioned earlier. Those are stuck in every neighborhood.
I really don't see the big del driving around NE. Maybe because this is the type of diving and navigating I have learned on. never had the big wide open spaces of the Midwest.

I wouldn’t care if the store had its own off-ramp from I-95 in Peabody. I’m not going.

#####. Thank you. I didn't consider the abuse that some of these guys are treated to with pay etc and I agree, it depends on the crime. In my case, it was an unarmed robbery. And before you ask, they lost him in the system for 18 years the whole while, his wife was visiting him, petitioning the court and demanding his release. Sad but true. His story has been published in news papers. And no, they did not pay him for the extra 20 years.

If still looking, head on over to the "Seeking Employment" forum and post your information there. If someone can hire you, they will respond to the post. Be prepared to put your past experience, both verifiable and non-verifiable as well as your location and what you desire for work. You just might find an employer in there.

As for the felon talk, when I ran an expediting company with Fords and Sprinters, I would almost exclusively hire felons, because nobody else would give them a chance at anything above minimum wage. They were happy to earn a good living and would try their best to not screw it up. Just make sure they have their travel docs in line before starting work, and be prepared to answer the occasional question from their PO. It only burned me once where I had to go recover the van due to him slipping and getting put back in the clink, but it was only 30 minutes away and I had the spare key. The only other hiccup was when the CHP decided to completely disassemble the inner paneling and insulation in a Sprinter during a random stop, "because felon." Even with those two incidents, I would gladly hire more if I went back into the business.

    Just Curious roundhouse,
How Many People That You Interact With O. T. R. Are FELONS??
It's Not Like Released Felons Have To Wear Something Specific.....and it'll Never Be.
    Not Every Felony Is Violent.
    Thanks, CHEERS!!

If people only knew what some folks did and didn't get caught?

Yep self righteous people and some of the things they spit out thier mouths. I know lots of them that broke more laws than many of the convicted folks.

Just like everything else you weigh the facts against what they say and your impression/ feelings on each one. I have worked with some that were great to work with great to be around, some that rubbed me the wrong way, some that took some time to settle in and learn how to handle life with the so called normal people and some who will never get it. Sounds like normal folks to me as I have had the same experiences with the non convicted folks just the same.
