Not sure how to actually post news threads but this one kinda shocked me. Anyone here anything else or see anything else about this???
CHICAGO (AP) - A Racine, Wis., man has been charged in the death of a Pehler & Sons trucking driver found stabbed on a suburban Chicago interstate.
David Seddon, 48, is expected to appear today in Cook County Circuit Court for a bond hearing on a first-degree murder charge, Cook County State's Attorney's office spokeswoman Sally Daly said.
Alan Lauritzen, 40, of Sparta was found Friday morning collapsed and bleeding by his parked rig on the side of the Edens Expressway, near the Chicago suburb of Northbrook. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Authorities had said they were investigating preliminary reports Lauritzen might have been involved in an altercation with another driver.
Lauritzen was a driver with Pehler & Sons trucking, based in Arcadia, Wis. A company spokeswoman said he had worked there for less than a year but was a good employee.
Visitation and funeral services have been set for Friday at Lanham-Miller Funeral Home in Sparta.
A telephone number for a David Seddon in Racine is unlisted. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.

BUT WE DONT NEED GUNS , there dangerous, there not safe, dont need them in a truck, just no reason to have one , tell all that trash to the dead drivers family.
its alright to argue and disagree in the long run it means nothing everybody does it its part of who whe are but to draw a weapon on an unarmed man is just plain wrong and you deserve what you get.
yes we need guns that is also part of who we are and our basic right to survive luck to all. southernprideJustSonny, Everett, simplyred1962 and 4 others Thank this. -
Yeah its sad an I agree with people should be allowed to carry guns in a truck. An I agree it takes a weak person to pull a weapon on an unarmed man. But I also think if a gun was involved it might have been the other way around and the other driver probably would've ended up dead but either way it was a stupid reason for someone to die, as im sure it was road rage, and the lesser of the man pulled a knife and stabbed him an left him to die on the side of the road. Sad what people will do these days.

Even if he had a gun could he have brought it to bear as a deterrent? It's hard to know as there may have been a sneak attack. I wouldn't get out to discuss things w/ any motorist who I thought was in an angry disposition toward me. I'd keep rolling more than likely, unless there had been a crash I was involved in somehow. In that case, before getting out I'd be sure the police were there and asking me to come out. Having said that I always have my 12 ga. in the cargo net on back wall of my sleeper in case someone tries to break in the cabin.

No mention as to how they caught the P.O.S. that stabbed him however, one more piece of Crap off the road. could you imagine arguing with him over a parking spot at the truck stop? probably the same end results.
simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
Yeah exatly atleast he's in jail, the mentality of people these days is just stupid as all get up. Would be nice to know how they found him though, thats why I asked if anyone else had seen anything about this.

Found some more info on it.
DES PLAINES, Ill. - Road rage reportedly led a Wisconsin man to fatally stab another truck driver from Sparta, Wis., on Friday, according to police.
David Seddon, 48, of Racine, Wis., was charged Monday in Cook County with first-degree murder in the death of Alan Lauritzen, 40, police said at a press conference Tuesday afternoon at the Illinois State Police District Chicago office.
Seddon argued with Lauritzen over the CB radio Friday morning for about 10 to 11 miles as both drove west on Interstate 94, beginning at the Kennedy Expressway, said Lt. Tony Rapacz of the Illinois State Police.
Seddon thought Lauritzen was tailgating him, said Andy Conklin, a spokesman for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.
Witnesses told authorities the two truckers were cutting each other off and putting other motorists at risk.
Seddon then reportedly challenged Lauritzen to pull over, which they did near the Tower Road exit, said Capt. David Nanninga with the Illinois State Police.
A fight ensued, during which Seddon is accused of pulling a knife and stabbing Lauritzen multiple times, Conklin said.
Seddon fled, police said, as Lauritzen collapsed to the ground. At 10:42 a.m., motorists notified police, who found Lauritzen bleeding profusely from three stab wounds to his left arm, chest and stomach. He was pronounced dead at Highland Park Hospital.
Lauritzen worked for Pehler Trucking Co. in Arcadia while living in Sparta with his wife, Lauren, and two children, according to his obituary with Lanham-Miller Funeral Home in Sparta. His father and stepmother, Dale and Lois Lauritzen, live in Winona.
Several members of Lauritzen's family were in court Tuesday but declined to comment. Attempts to contact his wife and father at home were unsuccessful.
Multiple witness reports allowed police to identify Seddon and trace his truck to Star Line Trucking Co. in New Berlin, Wis., police said.
Seddon was taken into custody without resistance Monday morning while on a run to Chicago's south side, police said.
Police still are looking for a folding knife with a brown handle, which they said Seddon might have thrown into a Racine landfill or, as he told police, tossed out of the truck window after the fight.
Seddon is jailed without bond and will return to court Feb. 9 for a preliminary hearing.
Racine police said Tuesday that Seddon's record lists only a 2006 arrest for battery and disorderly conduct. He later pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, with the battery charge dismissed.

Ah yes, once again the good old C.B. played a part in it.
-
Yep the good ole tough guy on the cb, ive had a couple instances where I heard people saying to others come on lets pull over an fight it out. I dont know why anyone would actually stop to fight someone on the road. Just dumb, no reason to pull over and have an argument and fight with someone you dont know, and this here shows you why!

I agree i hear it alot too when im sitting at a truck stop. Drivers telling each other to get out of there truck to fight in the parking lot
