Cents per mile

I sure wouldnt take the tanker job at that rate. I guess it would all depend exactaly what "some extra stops means" and where or who they were. I also hate hand unload, I've spent quite a bit of my time doing that and it just aint for me anymore, so between reefer and van it would probably depend on the product and customer base.

 

Tanker yankers don't have time to sleep while loading or unloading . It's usually less than 2 hours with many loads preloaded . Work harder ? On most of my loads I never touch a hose .

Why is there no love for the flat bedder in the poll ?

I would rather be the flat bedder with .46 cpm and turning 3200-3500 miles a week with extra stops and tarp pay !

 

You guys work to hard I guess...

 

looking at it from a different perspective, if the economy ever improves enough that the volume of freight increases, with the van you have a chance to make some more money, without having to get a pay raise.

 

Flat bed is in my blood .....
There is nothing like going 75 mph with the sounds of screaming chickens nailed down to the bed in the morning ......
My dispatcher told me on my back haul i would need load locks......
