Swift doesn't have a reputation for going after the new company,no. You will be required to pay back the loan sure, but they care more about the money than running someone's career.

Depending on the company you go to, they might pick up the tab for your training. In my class, one girl moved on to Werner a few months after training and, according to her, Werner picked up her training bill from Swift. Another guy moved to Knight and they did the same thing. This is second hand information, it is what they told me. So, can't guarantee it is true. But, worth an ask.
Also, haven't heard of Swift getting malicious about their training bill. I stayed with them, so completed my training obligation and can't speak first hand about what happens if you leave Swift before that obligation is complete. -

No contract, no lawsuits. The main culprit for those actions would be CRST. Swift only requires you pay back the amount via payment plan.
