Really. People like me, Emission standards are because of people like you. I’m in a day cab, I’m talking about people who are sitting in their seats, I just want a little peace.
-
At the docks for maybe 2 hours
-
THATS FUNNY RIGHT THERE
-
It adds up though. 10 min here, 20 there, within a week you're probably looking at a few hours easily.
-
Shutting it down and firing it back up every time you stop for a few minutes adds up to a new starter real quick too.

Are the Mod’s going to allow these personal attacks on me for asking a question? P.S I have nothing to do with the EPA. I’m in a day cab and was talking about drivers sitting at the dock with the driver sitting in their drivers seat. I do not sleep at truck stops.Old mark Thanks this.

You said you were not looking for an argument? You did not post helpful information to a driver. Or advice. You came out with your thoughts and feelings. Well, then you were looking for an argument or just want yours to be known without anyone else’s. Talking bad about idling in a trucker forum filled with truckers is like supporting Russia’s war in a pro Ukraine rally. What you expect! Folks have been close to hypothermia or heat stroke cause not idling. It’s a sore subject. You know why the idle, because they can. Why does a reefer run on continuous at 50 degrees, when it’s 50 out. Cause the customer wants it that way. So does the trucker, (especially if he’s paying for the fuel and taxes) he idles cause he wants to. Cursing at member or threats have no room here and shouldn’t be tolerated.

Brettj3876 Thanks this. -
I read a local article about idling trucks in NYC.
They encourage people to submit videos of trucks idling over 3 minutes and the city pays them 1/3rd of the fine.
There were a number of examples who have received 5 digits worth from dropping a dime...er. video...Brettj3876 Thanks this. -
