Yeah, got tired of doing that and bought a FR rain trench. Problem now is, the length. It is about 2 inches taller than my boots. So all the water usually ends up running down the trench and into my boots.![]()

Not sure why I just laughed so hard at that

Golf companies make the best rain gear, because golfers play in that crap. So the designers make them so you can still swing a golf club while wearing it. I have a set of rain pants and jacket. Also a short sleeve jacket for when it's warmer... I've had the pants probably 10 years now.. Used to use them working outside at the course... all day 14 hours outside in the rain and would be bone dry when I took them off to go home at the end of the day... Now I use them for trucking . Probably the best money I ever spent, although I would like to find some that are hi vis but still have the good quality of the golf ones... don't be shocked at the price tag... I paid 200 for my pants and 150 for my jacket and that was with employee discount. But they lasted 10 years and counting now..Last edited: Apr 1, 2022

I put a mesh screen over my above ground pool last year to 'winterize' it. Does that count?D.Tibbitt, Kyle G., shooter19802003 and 2 others Thank this. -
Hmmmmm.......um...jury says....

Had it been loaded on a flattop and strapped, it would have been a resounding, yes.

In 2013, I arrived in Nashville to begin training as a flatbed driver. Trained for two whole days strapping down coils with six, that's right, six, six chains.
Road tested pulling a 48 foot flatbed trailer, passed the Alabama coil test, and we all had lift two tarp rolls onto a flatbed. Then we learned about gut-wrapping and working load limits. Twisted straps had their wll reduced by half. Rails had a 5,000 pound wll, while the I-beam shaped trailer frame had a 76,000 pound wll.
But, it was all for not, as the trainer they had available was a real jerk. I couldn't stand the guy just speaking with him on the phone. The deal breaker was that he wanted trainees to sleep on the top bunk, even while the truck was in motion.
Well, that is a federal no no. With no trainers available for the next little while, I opted to run dry van.
Never did throw a tarp. Don't even want to try. Them things are heavy, and you could break a fingernail moving a tarp around.D.Tibbitt, CAXPT, Kyle G. and 1 other person Thank this.
