Problem is the insurance company is going to value by going off chassis year of manufacture. Which means as far as they are concerned everything that is required for that model year both safety and emission related has to be there regardless of an replacement engine swapped in. Once truck hits 25year old it can be considered exempt to some agencies.

 

Unless the truck was originally a glider, then the insurance company is correct.
You put a different emission tier engine in the truck. It would have had to be the same as a 2010 or newer.

 

Trucks built in the 2and half of 2007 started to have emissions equipment added ,Like a DPF and egr ,Unless your 2010 truck was a Gilder then it had emissions from the factory .By you putting in the older cat engine technically makes it illegal according to the government .I know ontario is making the emissions test even harder on heavy trucks you may run into other issues then just insurance depending on where you live

 

Technically you did remove the emissions equipment. Doesn't matter that the Cat is a pre-emission engine, what matters is the fact it left the factory with an emissions-equipped engine and I'm 99.999999% sure that truck is not a glider. Almost nobody would put an emissions engine in a glider.

 

Lower payments then, just don't wreck
