Is concrete work year round?
-
Your concrete plants usually run heavily from about the end of February until November or so…at least that’s what I got from Superior and Titan.
However, Titan is partnered up with the Universal terminal here so you can bump docks for them during the winter at the same start rate of $31 an hour Titan will give you for the cement truck. Cement truck is a Class B, Universal it’ll be a 53’ box.
I just got an offer from SRM to pull a pneumatic full of powder to their plants and that’s all year round but slower in the winter. However, they offer to let you work on out of state projects during the time all expenses paid. I can give you the link to the application and the info of my contact if you’d like for them because I won’t be taking the job.
My old fuel company also will more than likely put you on no problem, they gave me a chance with all of 3 weeks driving experience and still in the midst of waiting on my Hazmat to come back.
You’ll make a 100k at my old fuel company or more easily, and easily do the same at the concrete plants in less than a year probably.Geekonthestreet and Nickster909021 Thank this. -
Metro welding is Hazmat….Cryo starting off at $24.
Just remember that “1 year of experience preferred” means just that…per China’s instruction lolNickster909021 Thanks this. -
I’ve got 3 boys so local it is for me, or some semi regional. Trimac out of Taylor is good for that if you don’t mind the drive.
-
Thanks for the info. I don’t have my hazmat but I can obtain in. They won’t hire me if I don’t have a hazmat endorsement right?
-
Depends, some companies will bring you on. If you’re in the process of waiting for it to come back, like passed test and for fingerprinted.
Make sure to get every endorsement.Nickster909021 Thanks this. -
Check out Prairie Farms. I pulled their quad axle trailers all over Michigan (as a contractor) and they seemed like a good company to drive for. They have a bunch of locations in Michigan but the main plant is in Battle Creek.
Not sure what they pay or require for experience but they run class B an A trucks.
Also Wolverine in Detroit is a good gig if you can get in. It’s Union and last I saw (few years ago) they started pay around $21? Per hour.Nickster909021 Thanks this. -
What does a dairy farm put in a quad?
-
