Hello, I need some help cant seem to find any info, ive removed the fuel transfer pump on my 4mg 3406b and fitted the new one with the hose connections, i went to go install it and i cant seem to fit it back into the camshaft?, is there something that im missing? How does it fit back into place? I tried putting the old one back in place and it wont fully go in enough to be bolted back either.

What do you mean by trying to compress the plunger? When i put it back into the injection pump it wont go in all the way, not enough for me to be able to even thread the bolts.. what do i need to do?

Ok, i got it now, im suppose to compress the plunger… kill me now haha

I believe there are two identical pumps other than the length of the plunger. If your new one protrudes the same amount as the old you should be good, and you mentioned the old one didn't go back in either. With the pump in your hand you should be able to push in on it with your palm to get a feel for how much pressure is required.

I still cant seem to get it, the position is very awkward but also the force required to push the plunger in while getting the bolt started is driving me crazy. Yes they protrude the same distance. What im wondering is do i need to center it then compress and then start the bolt?
