Start as a company driver somewhere for a few years first.
Or you can just send me the $100k now you will blow on a truck when you go bankrupt in 3 months.Short Fuse EOD, TooTiredToTalk, aussiejosh and 9 others Thank this. -
thanks for your motivation.John Joel Glanton Thanks this.

He is actually right. Learn to drive someone else's equipment while making mistakes. And.. at this point of time, when equipment and fuel cost is sky high and rates are way down.. the best option and earnings are to drive for a company and make "clean" paycheck.TooTiredToTalk, LtlAnonymous, MadScientist and 5 others Thank this.

... considering your knowledge and nature of question he was very gentle with you not grilling ...
Let me try :
Just go buy new kw 900l icon with all bells and whistles ...if you want used - make sure previous owner is nice person - if truck looks good just grab it
Same applied to the trailer of your choice .Vampire, Rushtrucking and Last Call Thank this. -
I know that is not what you you want to hear, but he is correct and is trying to steer you in the right direction. You want to buy your first truck with little or no experience as you stated you are new to the industry. Kinda of like wanting to buy your first air plane and you don't know how to fly. If you can even find insurance, it will be extremely expensive.TooTiredToTalk, 48Packard, MadScientist and 4 others Thank this.

You want to buy your first truck, in the worst time ever to buy a truck or get in the business?

I want to be a neurologist/surgeon. What kind of white coat should I buy and how should I clean it? Also, any idea what kind of scalpel I should buy? Will a standard single side razor blade be just as good? Maybe I could find a couple of good used ones?
Sounds ridiculous don't it?
Same thing.........
Go to school & get a job in the industry & learn your trade first.... Then open/operate your own business.
If you dont know to get an oil sample done... you're no closer to being an O/O than I am being a neuro-surgeon.Crude Truckin', God prefers Diesels, TooTiredToTalk and 9 others Thank this. -
Buy the newest most expensive kenworth hood truck you can find. Then a year later I’ll buy it off ya. Lol in all seriousness if you’re new start off as a company driver to test the waters and do your mistakes on someone else’s dime. See if you even like the career cause this job is a lifestyle not just a job.
TooTiredToTalk, MadScientist, JoeyJunk and 2 others Thank this.
