At under half a million it should be a good deal. Will take only 10 years to pay it off at 6k a month, but hey, business is business.
TooTiredToTalk, pavrom, Trucker61016 and 3 others Thank this. -
Holy #### that's a lot of coin for a truck these days!

15-20 years ago a guy could pick up a brand new fully loaded bush spec tridrive for about $250,000 less than that.TooTiredToTalk, JoeyJunk and Last Call Thank this. -
Don't forget that bonus of the matching paint .. that would seal the deal if I was shopping ...lol
-
Yeah, paint is a point! And with the turning radius of that thing, I'd be able to back up into any corn field in IA
Val_Caldera, JoeyJunk and Last Call Thank this. -
Northern Iowa.. not so much down here in the goat hills ...lol
-
That's kinda what I thought too

A tractor and a trailer can be very expensive. I would wait when they are not so expensive.
Maybe 6-12 months.Last edited: Apr 15, 2022

Just wanted to affirm the advice given to start as a company driver in the beginning. I had the same idea when I was new and overwhelmingly received the same advice. So glad I did. After a couple years of driving, I was able to determine that for me, staying a company driver was my best option. There's alot more financial risk than most inexperienced realize. There's also a potential reward. But, I just don't want that risk. Others will have a different answer. However, with experience comes the ability to make the decision an informed one. If you want to do something like that, I assume you want to be smart about it (you came here asking for advise). Guarentee almost all, if not all, on here will lend the same advise. Start as a company driver. After a year or two, you'll probably learn what you need to make smarter, better informed decisions about it all. Jump into it without the experience in simply folly for, such an important investment that can carry quite a bit of risk.
Good luck to you!!!bigguns, TooTiredToTalk, MadScientist and 4 others Thank this.
