You mean they’re putting people in those things that can’t even tell if they’re sideways unless a computer tells them? Seriously..

 

What do you think a yaw sensor does? If you need an electronic system to tell you the truck’s travelling in a different direction than it’s pointed in you have no business sitting in it in the first place.

 

I don’t know if it can be programmed out or not. It may be a selectable parameter. Have to ask a dealer, or maybe someone who has disabled that already will chime in.

 

The yaw rate sensor should be mounted centrally on a crossmember behind the cab. It is used in conjunction with the steering angle sensor for stability control.

 

Boeings Angle of Attack sensors were so effective at flying airplanes into the ground I guess they just had to have something to steer trucks into rock cuts.

 

Required on new trucks, lane departure and adaptive cruise is optional for now even though the manufacturers get more points for the trucks that they’re spec’d on. I read that the date that everything will be required on new trucks is supposed to be announced soon.
