You couldn't pay me enough to go to Mexico. I also believe that everyone should stay in their own ###### country with the exception of going across to a forwarding facility located within 10 miles of the border.

thanks Ix Chel for your comments, which I agree with. I personally would love to at least once take a load deep into and beyond mexico if one was available and likewise, to get one from panama and take it all the way to Indiana where I'm at now!! THAT would be a great experience for me. I don't know if those exist, though I've heard that some countries in latin america love some of our small vans. I'd take a bunch for them if they want them delivered all the way to panama. Am I allowed to do "THAT"?

Driving in Mexico is vastly different than the US....
Don't drive a rig at night in Mexico...especially with US plates.....
You cannot carry a firearm in Mexico...So...there are only two types that have weapons....The Policía and the Delincuentes...

I don't know about driving a rig all the way to Panama, but it can be done, the only problem would be the insurance...

BTW you can take a bus all the way from the US to Mexico, change buses in Mexico. Head to Mexico City, change to another bus and head down to the Mexico/Guatamala border and from there take another bus line down to Panama.

Buses in Mexico are nothing like the US. They are clean, comfortable and relaxing. Multiple bus lines compete across the same routes and offer many amenities that one would only find on-board an airliner in the US including: AC, multiple bathrooms, assigned seats, seats that fully recline (plenty of legroom, I'm 6'2" and I do fine), WiFi, bag lunches, a "flight" attendent and the bus stations all have baggae storage facilties and multiple dining options.

As long as the U.S. is under NAFTA, you can be sure that the Mexican trucks will be coming. A couple of years ago there was a bill in Congress to repeal NAFTA, but it was not mentioned in the "respectable" managed news or by OOIDA; it went nowhere.

I read that in March 2009, Obama canceled the cross boarder long haul program, while Mexican trucking companies are suing the U.S. government for billions.

    Has anything changed?

The tariffs on agricultural products will continue...Farmers are pushing for the trucks to roll on in.....They need to sell....or rather the produce wholesalers that is....Either way.....I think Obama will cave....

I for one predict that the Mexican trucks will get as far as 20 miles in and there will be violence...By both sides.....
