Has anybody done comparisons of before and after programming injectors to 75. I believe 75 is the magic number? I could be wrong. Been told truck will run better. What are your experiences? Good or bad?

Supposed to make a difference on the low end, more power while taking off from a start. Also can cause a rough idle. You can try it, see what you think. I had my last 12.7 set to 75, seemed to make it a little more responsive in the pedal. Made it idle a bit rough. Hard to say. I’ve heard others say a dyno test showed no improvements. I’m not sure what the effect is. Maybe makes them open a bit sooner? Equal to increasing the timing maybe? Just a guess. My current Truck, I had the highest # calibration set to 75, and increased the other 5 by the same amount. I was told years ago, to do it that way, so it will idle smooth. It does idle smooth. I’ve also read that the calibration numbers are random. I don’t think it does much. I’ll probably set mine to the correct calibration eventually. I have an occasional stumble, with white smoke. The manual says it could be calibration codes. The Ddec 1 and 2, and maybe 3? didn’t have calibration codes on the injectors from what I’ve read.

Tell me about your occasional white(blue smoke) smoke stumble? I experience the same thing here. Mechanics look at me like I'm crazy when tell them. Their are no detroit guru's around here what so ever(hour south of chucago). I can get this truck at certain rpms and it stumbles plus or minus a few rpms no problem clears up like nothing happened. This is a 98 ddec 4 with injectors all set at 75. Engine is on its 2nd ecm. Haven't fell in love with the detroit's like everyone talks. However parts are cheaper than cat.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
