Hey Looneytune just found your thread this morning and wish you the best with Marten. Was wondering, are you happy there or just content? I have been talking with one of their recruiters for about 6 months now. Live here in Indy and am looking for a company where I don't have to bring the truck home. Don't like my neighbors knowing when I'm gone. But have been giving them real consideration. One of my coworkers used to be there and he had nothing but bad things to say about them, but that was a few years ago when he was there. So just tell me, is it a good choice or no.

Crosseye I've been hear over 4 months now. I love it, It's a good place to work. I just posted a good and bad about them on the company DAC report. You should read it.
JustSonny Thanks this. -
Hey looneytune.. How are your miles doing ya? I'm considering marten.. But they said I would need a twic card and pasport.. Also.. What is the base pay when you start? Lastly.. Do you know how the lease purchase is there?
-
1. miles are pretty good so far... between 2500-3000 for me. There will be slow weeks I know so that's just how it is
2. Yes they recommend a twic card for the ports and a passport or passcard(good for land travel) due to Canada. Only about 3 percent of their freight goes there.
3. and you have 90 days to have a hazmat on your license if you don't
They WILL reimburse you for the expense of getting all this.
Depends on your experience... I've been out here for 15 years so I started at .39 a mile. Plus there are bonuses.JustSonny Thanks this. -
Hey looney or Kabar
Thanks for all the info. I've been prehired but i don't know. How is the driving test? Did u get to pick your truck? Could i park the trailer at a local bus. and bring the truck home? Thanks for the info -
Cat, the driving test is no problem. Just watch your mirrors and following distance. They will get on you about that. You can ask your recruiter if she will put down on your file that would you like a certain truck but they can't guarantee it. But if it's available when you come out of orientation they will assign you to it. Not sure about the parking the trailer at a local business... it has to be a secure location. And they may frown on you dropping the trailer and bobtailing homeJustSonny Thanks this. -
looney,
It said on the web site they have 10 and 13 speed trannys. All i've drove are 10's have u drove a 13 and how much differant are they to drive. I hear the petes are 13 and would like one. thanks -
Don't know about the Pete's... yes I've driven one, their no problem. Well put in a request to your recruiter that you would like a Pete... they have a lot of them. In fact at Indy last week that's all they had available. Where would you go for orientation? Have they told you?JustSonny Thanks this.
