Current company finally broke out the dynamite and prybar and forced me out of the Volvo I was in. I'm back in a shaker, a 2021.
And the current "new cascadia" offerings just don't cut it. There's the new Wilson mount, which is aluminum, and not strong enough for my "franken-tenna" or really even my 7' Firestik. (I literally had the old Wilson mount for the legacy Cascadia break with a the 7' Firestik on it.)
There's the ProComm mount, which may hold the Firestik, but probably won't handle the franken-tenna. Plus, it keeps the antenna too close to the door.
Then, the notorious single post bird perch, which can strip out the threads in the driver's door with a large/heavy antenna on, or on the passenger side, unscrew itself.
Yeah, no. I need basically an updated version of the one I had on the legacy Cascadias I drove back in the day. Which is to say, basically a stainless steel version of the Wilson mount. Has anybody found such a thing?
Has *anyone* come up with a better mount for the 2017+ Cascadia?

This is what I had on my Ozark truck. I had the new body style but can’t remember which year. 19 or 20.

That antenna is pretty rigid and heavy that is attached to it.

That's the ProComm. Half decent mount but not quite up to my standards.
I suppose I'm going to have to get something custom made.rabbiporkchop, Another Canadian driver and JoeyJunk Thank this. -
I don't know what your frankenstein antenna looks like, but the Procom mount is pretty stout. Mine has survived a couple of severe antenna icing incidents with a 6foot Skipshooter! The movement of the antenna was incredible! I was amazed the mount/antenna didn't snap!

It's an oil coil on 54" of SS 3/8" shaft.
It's 7.5 feet overall including whip, and heavy as you know what.rabbiporkchop and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
Mine is a ss version of the newest style of plascadia mount....
I run a 102" (threaded end cut off)slid into a 10" riser with a breedlove stud..
I would still go custom designed one that will use all 3 mirror mount bolts vs 2....Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
I have been tempted to look into some sort of back of the sleeper antenna mount on my truck. Mid roof hauling a flatbed. Gonna hold off for now as a batch of new Volvos are coming in and I may get one this time(maybe?). I actually like this Cascadia, but the miles are getting up in the range where the dreaded yellow dash lights start lighting up with annoying regularity!
