So, what now? Back to un-employment? Plus, the gap you'll have in-between jobs won't look too good on future apps.

no unemployment for me,i had been a owner op for 14 years,up till november i had enough of the economy and brokers cheating drivers out of pay!when i sold my truck i thought i would work for a company as a co driver ,so i did alot of research and found out about 99% of all the companies are the same and have about the same turn over rate about 60% if you make it through there orientation!so i decided to go with metro because they were close to my house and been around for 70 years, they are so safte consious they dont seem to care that you dont get miles only that you log everything legal, and i mean everything!they told me i would be getting the top pay of 37 cents per mile and i got there they said 35 i know 2 cents isnt alot but dont tell me 1 thing and do another, well first day we had 6 in our class next day 5 and by the end 2 only were left!anothere thing i didnt like is there trucks are all keyed the same so when i parked at the terminal mine was moved, which made me mad.kind of like someone entering your house without permmision, being a owner op for so long i guess i expect to much,im used to running and trieng to make the 1600$ a month truck payments, not sure what to do,i know my child support is piling up,il probably be in jail next!

In jail? Ain't too much difference from working for most of the truck load carriers. One thing about the jail, they will feed you and you get free health care.

Sorry you had a problem with them.I drove for them for 6 months before I took a local job.My experience with them wasn't bad,it was pretty good actually.
But a guy I went to orientation with couldn't catch a break. His miles sucked, his dispatcher, according to him, was useless.

I ran OTR,and usually got around 2-2,500 miles a week.I liked the mostly drop and hook freight. I had a good dispatcher too, named Bob V.The first one I had was some schmuck outta Bolingbrook, named John.I knew he'd be a clown when he told me all about how he used to drive for 6 months 18 years ago.He said he went inside to ''help drivers''.Yeah, Ok. I guess the steady paycheck and being home every day had nothing to do with that decision.

I do remember them starting to get strict about the logs right around the time I left. If it doesn't work out here, and GOD FORBID, I ever had to go OTR again, I 'd give them or CAL EX a call.

    Good luck driver.

I drove for them for a month. I lucked into a local job or I would probably still be there. They are safety conscious and you wont run illegal. That is a tough adjustment when you are not used to it.

I don't like that either, lots of companies do that. My home is MY home, truck or house, I don't expect anyone to go in without at least telling me up front. Yeah, I know guys are saying that's the way it is, but not for me. I'm considering this company, but not liking what I'm hearing.

I know this post is pretty old, so I hope you're not in jail! Remember to always keep friendly communications with the Dept of Inhuman resources, they are not always pencil pushers and will give a little slack if they don't think you're trying to avoid them or skip town. Been there, done that!
