To test the fuel pressure on a Cat can you use a regular automotive fuel pressure gauge or do I need a certain one? Thanks.

Anybody got it on?
-
Depends on what the guage you are useing is rated to read an where you are testing it at
-
You can use any pressure gauge.... The one i use is a gauge for an air compresser, mine reads to 175# way overkill....then had a small hyd hose made (had mine done to 18" long or so) to connect the gauge to the female cat quick cpler... i will try an look up the cat part # for the quick connect and post it later...

ok I have a pressure gauge, where do I hook it up on the truck? On the filter housing?
-
On your secondary filter housing (the one mounted on the driver side of engine) there should be a test port.... I have seen some without it but most all do have it... It looks like an airline coupler sticking straight up close to the block and usually has a plastic cap on top of it to keep dirt out..... this port is only for testing not ment to run a full time pressure gauge off of.......... sorry for any spellin or gramatical errors, i had a "few" crown and cokes tonight...
