    Hi all.

Recently I was looking into a folding bike, both for excercise, and to be able to run errands within a few miles of the whatever truck stop I'm at. Anyone here have any reccomendations or experience using one of these?

I have a Dahon I bought in 2006. I had a Freightliner Century, I was able to store it under the bunk in the middle section. It was nice to be able to get away when I was laid over. I put a removable basket on the front that would hold a bag or two if I picked up something at a grocery store.

Bikes take up a lot of room. Walking burns more calories, requires only clothes and shoes, which you may already have. You have seen how 4-wheeleres drive. I wouldn't ride a bike near any 4-wheelers unless you get a tattoo so they can identify you when one runs you over.

I had a Dahon folder. A good brand. Sturdy bike, and folds up nice.

To those of you who had dahons, those have 20 inch wheels right? Did you have any trouble if you had to ride over dirt/gravel lots?

Small loose gravel can be slippery with the smaller wheel but packed surfaces are good 20220426_194001.jpg

I would strongly consider one of these if I went the folding bike route. When I was otr I stuffed my Trek Farley 7 fat bike up in the top bunk with the wheels removed. It only took a few minutes to get it out and ready and allowed me to get many more places than I could have gotten when walking.
