You could also get in a private school that uses auto, then apply only to companies that do the same.

May I ask why only automatics? I understand how someone might be reluctant to drive a manual and not faulting you if that's the reason but I think you would have so many more options available to you if you want a career in trucking.

Swift is all automatics. And (not sure why), I got my cdl with no "automatic restriction". Swift was really great for me all around. The academy taught me to pass the test and that was it. I had a good mentor. Was solo after 4 weeks on mentor's truck. Unfortunately I had to leave because the 41 to 55cpm sliding pay was not enough.

I don’t know your plans for the future but I would not want to have that restriction. Maybe you have physical reasons but I think you could learn. I got my younger sister to figure it out

I think your question is 180° off! Virtually everybody trains in automatics and hires those who only drive automatics. If you want to be trained in a manual and find a company that has trucks that have manual transmissions, those will be hard to find.

That is the most likely outcome if you do nothing but sign up for any random CDL school, complete school, pass your tests, and go to work for one of the companies that hires newbies. That's to say, it will happen unless you avoid it.
