Ain;t it ironic that every politician thinks he is an expert on every subject under the sun> They do not listen to those who have spent their lives in a profession.

Nope, not at all. If they did we’d all still have a truck with a 290 and a 4+4 in it to screen drivers with. I had one in my yard for years that I only put a permit on for road tests and to move the odd crusher with. A lot of road tests ended as soon as they pulled the door open. That truck was better at screening truck drivers than university graduates are apparently.

Maximum speed set at 45mph. 14 hour sleeper berth. 15 minute break every 2 hours driving time. That will make the roads safer.

not me. One of the several reasons I left the business.

Death by a thousand cuts. Supply chain problems are a result of something wrong in this business.
    Land of unintended consequences.....

These regulations aren't about safety anymore.

The goal is to make the industry so ####ing miserable, that by the time they're ready to roll out autonomous trucks en masse, there will be no one left who actually *wants* to do this job, and thus, would want to try to protest or stop said en masse roll-out.

In August it'll be 10 years for me. If I make it to August. In that time, zero injury or fatality accidents, zero tickets. I'm the kind of guy you *want* behind the wheel of these things. And I'm done. Over it. Already on borrowed time. And the new truck I was just put in has modules that render my CB radio - one of only two hobbies I can take on the road with me - basically useless by spewing 5-9 pounds of RFI garbage noise into my receive.

I'm hoping to find some kind of work that I can do remotely, from anywhere, so I can just go hide out in Montana or something; because the highways are going to turn into a blood bath if this #### goes through. Just look at Canada. Especially Ontario. There are multiple huge crashes every day now up there. And that started when they mandated limiters.
