Yea just over 21. I was horrified by what they told me how much they had to pay for a mixed drink in a bar over there.
I spent a fair amount of time over Milan Italy years ago, at the time they had a policy that the bar does not close until the patron leaves or the bar owner wants to go home.
After some young ones getting in many accidents at clubs the powers in charge decided the bars need to close at 1 am.
Well once a year the city of Milan had a festival that lasts all night. Well officials decided they would grant a permit to allow the bars to remain open all evening for the 1 night.

The bar owners took it upon themselves to close the bars at midnight that evening .

Now if you know anything about Italians they don't eat until 10 pm and than go to the bar.
Needless to say back to he old ways with how long a bar remains open.

No issues w/ aussies and kiwis. You are always welcome here. The ones we had were getting a free paid training courtesy of US taxpayers and not committing to the class room and only showing up on range days just wanting to drive the trucks. Was very unsafe. No issues with other cultures/nationalities that ASSIMILATE not separate.

Looking to get a start in the US Show Trucking Industry. I have 30+ years driving left and right hand trucks in Europe and have a technical/managerial background in the industry. I will pay for my own flights and partial costs for the CDL.if there are any opportunities. No accidents or criminal convictions and I have plenty of OTR experience being away for 3-6 months at a time.
Please PM me at simonmark.t@outlook.com for Resume and further info.
    Many thanks...

The foreign drivers will do gross things that for them is normal, like washing their feet in the sinks, or shooting snot rockets into the sink.

Occasionally I have had to see guys standing at the urinal peeing, with their pants and underwear all the way down to their ankles! We don't like bare butts at the urinals.

Some foreign drivers are pretty good though. I think the best bit of advise I can give you is to just don't park at the fuel island. It's a big problem. If you refrain from that, I doubt you'll hear anything.

The flip flop comments go along with that. It's usually the guy in flip flops parking on the fuel lane and goes skipping inside the store with his healthy legs, while the rest of us have to wait behind him.

Just park your truck before you go shopping and you'll make friends.

At least you’re not visibly different.
Imagine being the only Asian guy in trucking school, I’m pretty sure I was the talk of the school for a while. There were a few jokes thrown around that makes me think they were talking about me. “Look who’s driving!?!” kind of crap. Lol
Everyone was super cool after the initial reactions, and some of my most memorable memories were from trucking school. Everyone got along at that school: Jamaicans, Cubans, Haitians, Puerto Ricans, hill billies , rednecks, blacks both country and city.
It may be totally different out in the workforce , so I’ll update, but at least where I’m at people are passed the racial issue; now that doesn’t mean jokes won’t be thrown around though.

I’m curious, how do you know they were foreign, by visual cues?

The absence of English kind of gives it away.

I don't know about you, but I can't drive 1000 miles in any direction without people asking me where I am from.

Some times folks can just tell. It happens to me ALL the time. I've had people guess correctly I live in Texas. And I have guessed correctly a few times where other people are from.

I asked a driver if he was from Vietnam? He seemed surprised and said yes. He thought for sure I would say China or Japan. Lol it was just a gut feeling.
