There’s a difference though lol, did they just come up to you and ask you were you were from or did they ask you after you’ve asked them?
I’ve never had anyone ask me where I was from, unless we knew for certain that we were going to meet on a regular basis.

Not at truck stops or places where trucks frequently are. But if I head out into town and I'm being friendly/chatty, then yeah. I get the question a lot.

The point being is that folks are pretty good at spotting the odd one out. Even if the language is spoken perfectly, there's a lot of things we humans do without thinking.

Best example I can think of is how far apart we stand when we talk to each other. In America we space out about 3 feet. In other countries people will sometimes talk a lot closer. They don't think anything of it and they don't realize it makes us uncomfortable.

If you pay attention you'll notice a lot of small things.

Fingers used to show a number, like 2 3 or 4. We show the inside fingers first. Others show numbers differently without thinking.

That's why we put government officials and spies and such through a lot of training before sending them places. Blending in is very difficult. Ask the KGB how hard it was during the cold war.

Most Drivers I know are Foreigners. They aren’t afraid to work hard. Don’t work cheap either. I’ll say they stick together and help one another. They’ve helped Me, without asking. Same here.

I got a problem with everyone who hauls cheap rate loads. and believe me those people are in every race, color, skinny, fat, tall and short. stupidity doesn't have boundaries my friend. So, educate yourself, be responsible and disciplined. you will succeed!
