The article said 8.5% inflation, but everyone who works for a living and isn't a politician knows it's a lot more. The big question is how sustainable is it?

At some point, the trucks stay parked and people do not ship things, people do not buy things because they don't have the money. What goes up must come down. The gov't cannot handle deflation very well, they want inflation to push you into an electric vehicle. Even over here in the Philippines, they want EV's to roll out at some point!

I agree that it’s a lot higher than 8.5%. My wife and myself were at the store today buying groceries. Some of the normal stuff we buy has almost doubled. I feel bad for people that live on tight budgets or people on social security that were barely making it before this mess.

The last time I was in the USA was December of 2020, just finished up a driving stint with Knight out of Phoenix, AZ. As a driver, one has to try and eat healthy. Every day I made it a mission to seek out a rotisserie chicken at any Walmart I could get into. The price for said chicken was $4.99 then. How much is that same rotisserie chicken now? If I may trouble anyone!

I looked at my fuel when I got going this morning. My latest regret, not much of a way to start Monday. Last Friday my 5 trucks put $8052.92 through pumps. Retail pump prices here this morning are $2.28 to $2.45/L. The high side of that is $9.26/USGal ffs. For some odd reason I feel an urge to kick the next Dodge-Cummins owner I see in the balls.
