Oh he'll no it happened yesterday. The wife and I were out Rving and planned our lunch break at the Oasis Travel Center in Robertsdale, AL. and sit down at The Derailed Diner but nope it was closed with a small sign " Closed because we are unable to properly staff the restaurant".
The "tourist trap store", fuel desk and fast food restaurants were fully staffed so it's hard to understand the problem with the diner. Without a good sit down restaurant this becomes just a fuel stop and tourist trap like the Pilots. Cross this one off our preferred places to stop at.

Don’t waste your time with a Bucees. Just a tourist trap. But they do have clean latrines.

It was a regular stop for me when I was running cattle out of FL. I’d sit down and eat if I was empty but loaded I’d grab Subway usually. At that time the Subway and chicken employees came from a prerelease center. Throw a $5 in the tip jar and you’d get a double meat foot long for the price of a regular 6” sandwich.

tell they put a lot of thought into it. Guess I won't stop there, either. What a shame, too. The food was
always good and the homemade fudge couldn't be beat! Thanks for letting us know, my friend.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -

If I had to guess, my guess would be, they couldn't compete with the pay offered by other places, combined with rising food costs and there ya go.
Those tourist traps usually will pay a 13+ an hour, and a lot less ######## to deal with than working in a kitchen or as a server.
Shame though it went under. Good places to eat are hard to find.
Ever bring the RV to my sandbar, reach out and I'll have a couple excellent spots for you to try.
Folks who RV are good folks in my book. I got to spend a winter with a bunch of Full time rv'ers back in 2008 when I worked for Amazon. Awesome folks. Just all around good people. Couple of oddballs but even they were fun.
