Now for the big question, and then I'll return back to the current topic!
1. They "big Brother" want drivers more healthy, so what has changed in the daily life of drivers. Go into a truck stop and what are you offered?
fried foods, McD's, Wendy's, etc. Have you looked lately at the menus, does it have so called heart healthy food offered... NO!!!
When will the goberment start after those who feed us and regulate the items that are served?
Have the truck stops started to offer exercise programs for the drivers? NO
now back to our regularly scheduled program -
On XM radio awhile back they was talking about healthy eating on the road. That one DOC I can't think of his name, but he said he asked a lot of the truck stops about offering healthier food and was told they did and there was not that big of a demand for it......

Effective March 1, 2010, all drivers will be required to take part in daily exersise programs or face lose of their CDL privledges! All drivers are to report to the nearest Federal Gov't physical fitness center EVERY MORNING, for no less that 30 minutes a day!
Sound farfetched??? What is going to stop the goobermint from making it happen? -

I listened to a Webinar last night. Kinda boring, but I did get a little information from it. One thing that was mentioned was that if a driver gets inspected and no violations, etc., are found, the driver should request a that the SI write up the "clean" inspection. Apparently, this is not SOP right now. SIs are reluctant to write up a "good" inspection. It's important for the clean inspection to be reflected in the driver's profile, thereby increasing the bottom number in the profile math. Also, drivers need to make copies of all their PTIs, enroutes, and post trips and keep those copies for their own records. Ya'll might be doing this already! The webinar speaker said that insurance companies CANNOT have access to driver profiles. I'm not sure how much it matters, you can bet the carriers will be on top of it...drivers' profiles, that is. Finally, according to this guy on the webinar, DRIVERS MUST STAND UP AND REFUSE TO DRIVE EQUIPMENT THEY KNOW IS NOT UP TO PAR!! Oh yeah, it's not about just OOS violations anymore, everything a driver can possibly do wrong will go into figuring his/her profile.

I've always gotten a copy of an inspection whether there were violations or not . You'd better believe if a driver passes a level one he makes sure he gets CVSA stickers on the tractor and trailer .
You may have misunderstood about "copies of PTI's , enroutes , and post trips " There is no writeup of a PTI required , just a DVIR when the post trip is done . They were probably talking about making sure all duty status changes are logged .
That Webinar wasn't broadcast from a CB was it ?

You can lead a man to water, but you can't make him drink.....There are choices that can be made on the road- you are not forced to eat the unhealthy slop that the fast food chains who are so conveniently located in truck stop's these days try and tempt you to eat..You can still order salads from these places and low and behold they offer fat free dressings to go along with those salads. You can carry healthy foods in your truck as well, it's just a matter of adjusting your eating habits and resisting the temptation for the quick fix those heart attack havens try and attract you to. Now is a good time to try and change our eating habits- freight is slow compared to two years ago, we arent all running our butts off and have time to eat healthy in between pick ups and deliveries. It's your choice- remain 300+ pounds and die 20-30 years earlier than you should performing a job making money for some company that probably doesn't appreciate you anyway or take off that extra weight and have a nice long life...I'd rather see you around alot longer!!!!
