Target throws new bicycles in dumpster

Depends on manufacturer and scrap avenue. In the almost 100 cases of “recalled” products we’ve had to deal with over the last 25 years about half of them required documented destruction. Tires are easy. Cut the sidewalls 12” cut in both sidewalls above Dot # and scrap with recycling co. Wheels not so much. Some want them drilled. Lots of manpower and extra time.
Equipment usually cut wires,hoses, remove or destroy key components and things to make it expensive to get going again.
With those impact guns and jacks nothing special was required other then a receipt that a reputable scrap recycling company took them to shred.

The tire manufacturers always give us a $25 per tire “handling fee” for cutting them.
