When I leased on to my carrier I elected to have a 3" Roper pump and compressor installed on my truck thinking it would give me greater flexibility in hauling to different customers, which it has absolutely done. I now have the opportunity to purchase the pump, compressor, hose rack and toolbox for $4K. I won't be in this truck much longer so I'm wondering if this set-up would bring additional value at the time of sale. I've heard that accessories such as APUs don't do much for resale value so I'm thinking the same might hold true for these items.

Limited marketplace unless you are located around a bunch of tankers.
They would recover more sold outright and won't add much value at trade in.bumper Jack and spindrift Thank this. -
Just take it off your truck before you trade it in, if you decide not to pull tanker any more then sell it to another person who is going to have to buy one at the new hi price they are charging now for one?

Don’t trade it with the truck. Pull it and sell it.

My carrier owns it. I have the opportunity to buy everything for $4K.

4 grand sounds like you have not been making any payments on it thru the co. you were working for, if you been paying on it, and not going to use it at next carrier well just leave it with them, but the compressor and hose rack add up fast with the two pto and driveshafts, if you have been the only one who has used it and never let it run for dry for long it would be worth more than the 4 grand they want for it, but if you have been paying some for it to the co. you have to add that to the 4,000$ you will have in it?

No one will pay you more for it on the truck. You don't get much even when you take it off to sell it. I absolutely would not do it if you plan on moving on soon. I still have fittings I can't give away 3 years later. Mine made me money for sure when it was running, but definitely not when it was getting sold.
spindrift Thanks this.
