No, but I watched a steel step deck break in about the same spot and he only had 44k of cable reels on. It was quite the sight to watchBret1984 Thanks this.

Like another commenter said on this thread you're probably going to have visible cracks before it gets to that point. Rough lease roads definitely don't help matters and with proper inspections that likely could have been caught early. However loading too much weight all of the time has to be another contributing factor.MACK E-6, bumper Jack and baha Thank this.

I guess my point is. Over loading mixed with rough roads caused the cracks. Piss poor maintenance resulted in not catching it and resulted in breaking his wagon in half. It didn’t just snap on the first load.bigguns Thanks this.

Poor maintenance, haphazard inspections, bad roads, they all add up. They accelerate the wear schedule and things start breaking before they should.
I used to work for a guy that insisted we run legal weight or as close to it as possible. He figured the extra wear and tear on the machinery wasn't worth the little bit of extra revenue when you figure in the downtime and unavailability of the equipment. He got rich in this business so I tend to watch how he did and copy it. So far it's working.Dadetrucking305, MACK E-6, bigguns and 1 other person Thank this. -
Did you catch whether or not it was a spring ride trailer?
If it was I’m sure that had a little to do with it too.Bret1984 and bumper Jack Thank this. -
I sure feel sorry for anybody who has to pull a spring ride trailer up and down lease roads and over cattleguards.haz-matguru and MACK E-6 Thank this.
-
I actually didn't catch that. That certainly would be another contributing factor though if that was the case.MACK E-6 Thanks this.

How about how old is the trailer? When I ran the pneumatic setup we had, got bored during an unload, and looked at the data plates for both the trailer and the pup. Both were almost as old as I am, and I ain't young.
Bet a soda the build date on that is 76/77/78.
