Currently on a home search, one of my requirements (which is partially limiting my search) is being able to get the truck and trailer in (or at least the land/space so i can) while fully loaded.
For laziness i THINK i would like a big peice of flat land, then just make a big wide gravel circle, maybe concrete pad for where i finally park (flatbed spread axle and long wheelbase)
Any of you care to share a satellite/overhead view of how you do it?

I rent a spot in a secured lot. Or at least it’s under surveillance by the Italians that own it
Somehow someone shows up every time I buy a new truck within minutes
But
That said make sure wherever you buy land that it’s ok to park there
Some cities have rules that you can’t do this or thatskallagrime, Flat Earth Trucker, tscottme and 2 others Thank this. -
Yep I am in the same boat. Hope after next summer I can get enough put back to get a different place. That is my main reason for wanting to get a different home. Need a place to park truck and trailer where people cannot mess my stuff up. I have had my trailer hit twice now where I park with no one accountable for it.
skallagrime Thanks this. -
An acre. Flat and fenced. Park in the side yard.
Typically not available if you're anywhere near a community with an H.O.A.

Dont have a picture handy and on sat view its covered by the tree anyway. But i just park beside my friends combine in the dirt or on the strech of road we basically own. Just turn right at the crossroad back up to the east side then turn back the way i came and back right on into our yard.
skallagrime and GYPSY65 Thank this. -
I have to pull in and make a u turn in my yard. Works ok with the tandem closed empty. Kinda works if im loaded with the tandems closed. No joy with the spread open and loaded. I got 13 loads of rock in a couple weeks ago to put in a second entrance and a drive around.

Phase 1 for me was 3 belly dumps. Phase II is 3 more so I can do a 360 in the back yard.
Can do it now. I used recycled asphalt. But that dirt gets REAL soft when it rains. So need a hard surface. -
What are those things at the bottom of your fence? Almost look like vents?cke, JoeyJunk, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this.

You ever tried those gravel pavers? They are little plastic honeycomb things that you fill with gravel then put a thin layer of dirt atop. Ive heard from another driver they hold up well even when he pulls his dump and pup over it fully loaded. Only needs to add a bit of dirt every couple years.skallagrime, JoeyJunk, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this.
