Discovered this yesterday on my trailer... Got a quote today from a reputable shop in Hubbard, Ohio and I'm not buying it...
8 hours labor? It's literally 4 bolts that are on the mounting plate thats attached to the trailer, and then obviously the 4 bolts on each side of that square thing that the shocks attached to... Maybe I'm missing something?
They claim 2 weeks wait on the part and $225 shipping charge for them to get it?
They are Inflating the inflation, IMO!!!!!
I kinda get the impression they got to much work currently and don't want any more......
What am I missing?

Wow if it is just the few bolts then just do it yourself. How did that happen? You hit something and knock it off? Or is it just an old trailer wore out?
TooTiredToTalk Thanks this. -
At most 3 hours. They are most likely charging book rate or double book rate.
either way, do it yourself or the reputable shop isn’t that reputable.RefMata, JonJon78, TooTiredToTalk and 1 other person Thank this. -
I looked at it again a little while ago, looks pretty cut&dry from what I see. Worst case scenario I may have to grind some of the bolts off, that's easy though
The trailer was bought new in 2018. It takes a beating though, that piece just finally had enough stress on it, flatbeds get loaded with huge machinery & cranes that rock the hell out of the trailer, especially magnetic cranes... different ballgame than van loading at a dock.4mer trucker, TooTiredToTalk, bzinger and 2 others Thank this. -
I looked again, it seems as it’s missing washers? Those bolts should not have gone through like that.
