Post is old but curious as to what you went through with..
My 2008 389 has SDP with broke crank and I have access to a 5EK.. Did you do the swap if so did you buy the harness with the process module??

Yes my 2008 went from sdp to 5ek. Gotta buy the harness with processor.

Does anybody know what pins to change on sdp harness to 6nz ecm? I have a 2008 kenworth multiplex no gauges working, 6nz ecm is 70 pin but the sdp was a 120 pin does anything need to be changed for this engine swap to work? Thanks in advance

6nz needs j1939 powertrain datalink turned on. Then cruise/jakes/fan override turn to j1939 vs hardwired. Should just be ecm parameters

Thank you push broom for your reply, let me go back a bit, i had a sdp acert in this truck, then switched to 6nz (used the original sdp truck side harness on the 6nztruck will start and run, but no gauges no oil pressure gauges or rpm, got into cat et and changed powertrain datalink to j1939 still nothing, try to connect to cab with esa and I get an error saying software out of date on truck

    Oxbow Thanks this.

After turning the powertrain data link to j1939 you will still need to go in to your output selections and change the appropriate outputs to the cab controller instead of a ECM pin output.
If it still doesn't work then it probably needs the flash file in the ECM changed, I can't remember exactly but I think for 2008 and newer trucks the 6NZ needs a flash file that starts with 338- or higher to talk to the CECU.

I think it may still have a flash from 05 in there on the ecm I’ll give it a look, I’ll be honest this is my first time messin with this kinda electronic ecm stuff so definitely a learning curve thank you for your inputs

    bjytech and Oxbow Thank this.

Does anybody have a place to call to have the flash file updated to on this 6nz for the newer trucks? Thanks
