    Man I am loving it.

However, Mother Nature is "quite the practical joker".

Weather has been up and down, but I can promise you, I have had about enough fog to last me for the whole year. It has been just crazy! That coupled with the ice fog makes for some interesting driving.

Still getting GREAT miles, seeing a whole bunch of countryside. Granted, I was expecting to do more JIT, but I am ok with the long haul stuff too. At least they are running me.

Been seeing a lot of Colorado and Kansas. Beautiful countryside (Colorado, not Kansas). I have decided that Kansas is prettier after dark....

    hehheeheheh

Glad you're getting the miles... makes for a nice paycheck, I'm sure.
Hey, I was wondering.... did you get a new trainee yet?

    Hey Scooterdawg,
I was wondering if they hire out of Wilmington NC or do you need to live near a terminal?

    Hey there Sam -

Yep - no complaints about the paycheck.

No, not yet on the trainee. Right now, things are in a holding pattern as far as hiring. But I expect I will get another one soon.

Not sure. Probably your best bet would be to call up there and ask. I can tell you that the trucks are not taken home and it is a long drive to make from Wilmington to Mount Airy and back every week. As long as you dont mind 4 hours each way, that would be the first hurdle.

    Good Luck!!!!

    Hey there -

Just got back in from the road and looking forward to a few days off at the house.

Bubba and I were involved in a sort of "rescue operation" yesterday. A good friend of mine, Tariq (you may have heard me mention him in the other thread) was involved in a slide in Western Virginia on Wednesday where he hit a piece of ice and his truck slid off the road and slammed into the side of a mountain. He is ok, but his truck didnt fair as well. He is a really good driver, but that just goes to show you that Mother Nature doesn't care.....

Anyway, Bubba went and picked him up in Bristol in his personal vehicle and drove Tariq (Ty) to the yard where we loaded all his stuff in my car and we drove to Raleigh where Linda was waiting with a HUGE VAT of spaghetti. Ty hadnt eaten in a few days so he literally attacked it (oh yeah, so did I).

Then Gary, a fellow student from CTA, came to my house with his family (he's got two of the cutest kids you ever met... Meghan and "S'ketti Mouth Scott"), more spaghetti was eaten, and then we loaded Ty's stuff into Gary's vehicle and he took Ty home to his awaiting family.

Oh yeah, and another WONDERFUL thing happened.... Bubba's wife, Vivian (we actually have a nickname for her, but I am not sure I am allowed to say it publicly) made a lemon pound cake for Linda and a coconut cream pie for me. I am here to tell you.... Bubba is a lucky man....

Ok, so for the tally.... January 9th through January 22nd - 6020 miles. Looks like I am going to be on the OTR side of the company for awhile (which doesnt bother me) until the season settles down. I do like being home every week, but the paychecks are pretty easy on the eyes as well. Plus, there is more of a challenge delivering brokered and private loads.

    Anyway.... Massive ARF to ya'll!!!!

Bubba (me) says Yes, I am a very lucky guy to be married to Vivian... and lucky too, I think, to have great friends like Scooter and Linda.

Scooter, once again... 'Welcome to the Rockies' LOL

Thanks man..... you and Viv mean alot to us too. Ok, enough with the mushy stuff huh..... <clears throat> er uh Oh Yeah..... Diesel Fumes.... Axle Grease...... MANLY TRUCKER STUFF <thump thump>

Yeah, keep laughing about the Rockies..... Linda and I have talked about it in great detail and all said and done, It's All Good!!!! Especially when you think about all of our fellow drivers who are sitting for days on end. We are definately blessed to be working for a company like LC who provides the miles and runs that we get.

Thanks Harvey and Phil!!!! (and Dale, and Alan, and Bill, and Justin, and Dwight, and Paul, and Johnny, and Tripp, and Faye, and..... oh geesh... this could go on for a while....)

    Arf Arf!!!!

Scooter must be stuck in a snowstorm somewhere. If you get to the terminal and don't want to drive your 4 wheeler to Raleigh in this mess I am home until Mon AM.
