Good job. Last longer doing the machine polish too.

 

I've been told its easier if you keep up on them. I'm not sure what path I'll take with the KW when I get to the point of putting wheels on it. I've got a pair of new, unpolished Alcoa knock-offs holding up the rear and the wagon wheels up front. Might just buy 4 Durabrights to put on the steer and outsides of the rear.

Here's my opinion, if your time is worth something, you're better off just buying new polished wheels for steers and outers. If the wheels are rough and have nicks, etc., unless you are unemployed and have all the free time in the world, it's just not worth what it takes to get a show shine on them.

As far as Durabrites, it depends on what exactly you'll want from your truck. For shows, nothing tops a high quality polish on raw aluminum. For more of a work/daily driver, it's hard to beat the no effort wash and rinse that Durabrites bring to the table while looking still looking pretty nice. For a work truck, I'm torn. I put Durabrites on my trailer and 3 years in they're showing their age. Sandblasting and etching have taken the freshness out of them, but they don't look bad from a distance.

I'd much rather have all raw aluminum all the way around and keep a nice shine on them, but for some reason as the years go by, I have less and less "free time", let alone the energy to get it done lol. Not to mention it seems to rain for a week after I roll out all shined up. The polish I kept on company trucks in my 20's would put my equipment to shame, but I'm also not sitting for days in sunny California anymore either.

Unless you have a wife helping wash and she happens to accidentally hit them with a spray of straight Purple Power lol. It works great for dissolving bugs off stainless but it's just so brutal on fresh aluminum.

 

Yall keep talking about polishing and I’m just over here trying to keep it looking clean from 50 feet…

19 hours. Wife made home made chili to go with it.

it’s the best one I’ve made yet. Still need to work on the seasoning next time a bit.

Got me some baked taters for leftovers tomorrow.

 

Bee says your don't order anything there. Use to be good, but now, overcooked or illness making.

Its going to be a toy more or less. With today's fuel prices I'll probably spend $700 just filling the single 100 gallon tank lol. Might drive it to work and back once in a blue moon.
