Nothing like 2-1/2 hours on hold for Road Squad — call the TA directly n try and set it up
“no, you need to go through Road Squad” they tell me 1-1/2 hours later after waiting…
Some days I really wonder….

I was doing lateral raises in the gym years ago and an old timer came over and gave me some tips and pointed out where I was putting myself at risk of an injury by going unnecessarily high with the lift. He was super kind and respectful, didn't talk down to me and I was happy to learn something. There were pictures of him on the wall and tons of trophies from over the years so it was obvious that he knew what he was talking about. It was free advice that some people pay a premium for coming from someone with nothing to gain or lose by helping me out.
If you offered the guy some advice while staying respectful and courteous he'd be an idiot to shrug you off without giving thought to your advice.jamespmack, CAXPT, IH9300SBA and 5 others Thank this. -

When the guys get into the gym and get hooked on the iron, they make quick gains. They get really strong really fast. Almost all of them will fall into the trap of benching 3x per week. I made that mistake too. With the lighter loads, it doesn’t bother you, but the heavier loads, it will. For me, it happened when benching over 335lbs. Injury, injury, injury, injury! Started trucking and was only able to go once a week. No injury! Came off the road at 30, got back in the gym, went back to the same routine that everyone else was doing and guess what? Injury, injury, injury! The heavier you lift, the longer the muscles need to recover. Duh, right? When you see the guys doing those stupid routines that they read in the magazines, you know that it is only a matter of time til they blow their shoulders out. The problem is, if you warn them, they may take offense. You don’t have a dog in that fight, you didn’t mean to tick anyone off, but there’s a good chance that the guy is going to snap at you.jamespmack, CAXPT, IH9300SBA and 4 others Thank this.

Just like trucking, burn through parts by running pedal to the floor as a youngster and finally learn to ease up a bit and realize how long a transmission and rearend can last. Try to tell that to my younger self and I'd laugh while grabbing gears and pouring the coal to her. Some things can't be taught, they have to be learned...jamespmack, CAXPT, TripleSix and 6 others Thank this.
