I used to use the RM line exclusively when I was doing OTR and dairy.
Now I am no longer in trucking but will be living in an RV soon.
My RM was given to someone else, and I am shopping for something of reasonable quality that will work with RV.
These $99 amazon units get some wildly mixed reviews.
I know pros probably won't touch them, but I am curious if anyone has?
The RM stuff is so bloody expensive now, and I always found them do have a short life span.
Burned out several.
I wonder how different any of these brands are?

Yeah the reviews are really mixed. One review noted the unit doesn't calculate a re-route, it just says do a u-turn. The price seems too good to be true compared to truck GPS. There are not enough pics of the navigation screen, the screen you look at 90% of the time. I have the same opinion about RM Truck GPS. I like it much better than Garmin, but RM products are delicate and updates are rare. I've never used this device.
I would go find a big RV message board and seek opinions from them on this unit. -
There are so many knockoffs, I doubt the brand means anything to anyone.
I can't even get the seller to give me warranty terms.
Good lord. -
i got about 2 years ago, a Garmin. frequent updates, and i got it from Amazon as well.
