Cabs come off a lot these days on all makes due to them not having solid mounting points anymore. Cost of safety for having air ride. Even back in the day Petes had a 3 point mounting system with two bolts in front one at each corner and just one bolt in center rear. White Motor products from which North American Volvo came from had four point mounting.
If you ripped a cab off a truck back then you were a legend because you only had less then a 1% chance of it happening even falling down a cliff.InTooDeep Thanks this. -

About 10 yrs ago, Schneider Frieghtshaker sleeper was involved in a 5 car on I-76 outside Brighton, Co, the cab ripped loose and ended up sitting upright in the median about 70' from the frame and engine
