    haha meant 10k. that would have solved the mystery. Was shocked on why i was on "good" profit. But ####, how do anyone make money in this industry then as O/O?

    Most o/o drive themselves. So that 8k goes into their pocket and we save money when rates are good for times like this. Some o/o do their own maintenance to save whatever they can .

    Also, does your plan really call for paying yourself $16k a month - $200k a year??

    $5000 for the truck payment?!
    $ 2083 for the insurance?!

    If so, this alone is too much to live off loadboard freight.

    To be at $32000 revenue, you need optimistically 9000 - 10 000 miles which translates closer to $10 000 in fuel. I don't know what type of freight is considered here but to stay at $3 per mile on a dry van for 10 000 miles per month has been next to impossible in the last 7-8 weeks.

    Tolls: depends where you go but if it is Chicago outbound. going eastward, they can get easily above $1000 per month.
    Maintenance: if this is one of those 500 000 mile trucks, $1000 is optimistic. Typically it is between $15000 - $20 000 per year.

    Shortly:
    Too much hope for so much revenue at this market and too big truck and insurance payments not to become financially frustrated.

    rollin coal and johnhawden08 Thank this.
