Bringing your Dog...

Be mindful of where your dog steps. I personally would never let a dog's paws touch the parking lot. Anything that gets on their paws can get in their system if they lick their paws. Also, pavement gets really hot.

 

Just make absolutely sure you have a leash on the pup before you get out of the truck. I'd still be chasing mine around if I didn't. Every truck stop will be like Christmas morning.

I used to like taking my grandkids with me, back when I could let them out of the truck now and then without getting them back covered in dog ####.

 

Leave the dog in the truck, not everyone is a dog person. Fear, allergies etc can be a problem. As stated every time you pull the brake get them out. Always have a leash, every time I think no one has their dog out here now surely.....mine ends up full bore to check out some lap dog that gets snatched up and I get dirty looks.....that I deserve lmao. Also think about if your in shower and pooch is in the truck, the bomb beside you catches fire but no one can let your dog out. Slim odds but just an example of things that can go wrong. I will say I don’t wanna go truckin without my pal. As much as he is a part of me I try to respect others feelings/thoughts. I may not be 100 percent effective at that though

 

used to take my pup everyday, then he got too big and started knocking me out of gear every time he walked around. He’d sit halfway out the window growling at anyone that would walk past the truck.

 

My dog can bolt into the woods and I give one whistle as he’s hightailing it back to my side. Never taught him that. He can lean out of the window and watch me walk away or around, one whistle and he jumps out to follow. Never taught him that. He’s been a good dog since 3 months. Could be breed related. Shepards are the ultimate clingy dogs lol

 

The dobermans I had were like that never needed a leash just instinct to stay close.

 

love those dogs too. My wife’s dog, Golden doodle is the opposite. Had a neighbors dog run up on me at night, the doodle got behind me. My GS would’ve tore that other dog up

 

I agree he doesn’t look athletic nor intelligent right there. Don’t let him fool you, 1 single syllable whisper stops all movements till he sees a gesture. If your loadin big horny ######## with tiger stripes and humps just let him do his thing
