Thx everyone for their input. I’ve decided to stay with Big E. Walmart sounds like a good company. Everyone stay safe

Walmart does not fire drivers who have minor preventable incidents/accidents. The exceptions to that, are not reporting it, or any other instance in which WM could/would lose total trust in that driver. Anyone who states otherwise, has no idea what they're talking about.like clay… +++, billthetrucker, braceface and 3 others Thank this. -
but what i can recall is him stating that there was no consideration for his years of service with them, as well as his spotless record.truckdriver31 and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
Sort of like murdering someone, but stating that because you've never murdered someone before, that you should get consideration for all the days you didn't murder someone. (yes, that's a silly example...but so is the notion that because you've worked somewhere more than a day, you should be exempt from the rules).
I always find that it's ironic, that in todays day and age, everyone who loses their job always, ALWAYS places the blame on their former employer. No one actually takes responsibility, and accepts that they had a major part to play in their new unemployed status.billthetrucker, braceface, Exit310 and 2 others Thank this. -
you know a "second chance" for a good employee..??
what about YOU, if YOU screw up, wouldn't you want a second chance to make good..??
rather than to be kicked to the side of the curbing..??
a new employee (say on probation when hired) , or one that "screws up" weekly, maybe monthly and gets warned xx number of times, , SHOULD BE fired on the spot, but a long time employee..??like clay… +++, Grouch and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
Not reporting an accident/incident? Gone.
I'm glad you think that a certain leeway should be given to employees once they've put some time in...but I can assure you, not every company is going to let their senior drivers do whatever it is they want with no repercussions. It boils down to trust. If any company, not just Walmart, expects you as an employee to be trustworthy...how can that relationship continue if you fail to meet your end of the deal?
Trust is easily given...but hard to earn back once you've damaged it.Hatt91, 88 Alpha, braceface and 1 other person Thank this.
