I was told that cruise control is governed slightly higher, and that you can press the pedal on top of it to push out another 2-3mph.
Why do you sometimes see mega carrier trucks doing 70+ on flat grade?

Idk if they’re considered a mega or not but when I used to be in the chicago area there was a company named NFC every last one of their trucks blew by me like a one of them crotch rockets that wasn’t there when you checked yours mirrors 2 seconds ago. Lately I have noticed Charger logistics and jb hunt to be moving pretty expeditiously.

If Schneider trucks don’t have the road decal, then they are owner operators. They can go up to 70 mph.

Werner company trucks are limited to 65 on the pedal and 68 on cruise.
As for 70+ on a flat grade, it most likely is an Owner Op. As someone mentioned earlier, sometimes the only way to tell is by the truck number and even then only if you know the numbering scheme. Majority of the Werner trucks are 70000’s to 80000’s -
I was headed to Indy one morning. An Indian River tanker blew by me doing like 75+. I was light and it wasn't worth trying to keep up. He had to doing over 80. Looked just like a company truck. I knew then how those cabover guys felt when a Monfort meat truck blew by em!

In the case of USA, their company trucks run 70mph now
