As title says How do you cage this chamber?

    Chamber bendix part #5018434

It looks like it should be just tighten or loosen the nut that is attached but that didnt loosen the pads whatsoever (disc brakes) loosening it drew the threaded rod out about 1 inch

My guess is the rod needs to come out more.

Loosen, counter clockwise. I have the same chambers on my trailer, and I had to Google to figure it out. The rods will start to come out of the chamber about three or four inches.

Once they get max movement, it will be obvious, because it will feel "bottomed out" when you're trying to turn.

Thanks, Dern people reinventing the bloody wheel, that style is only on the rear axle, front spread has 18/24s that back off fine with the standard tbolt/nut. (Have a feeling imma replace the whole chambers on the back axle for this reason)

This full repair is beyond my pay-grade though, went to replace the pancake and turns out the problem is that the inner pad went mia... le sigh, heres hoping the pistons on the caliper arent too shot.

    Thanks for the responses

Amen. I just pulled my truck around to put a new band clamp from the down pipe to the flex pipe. I was poking around as I always do, and have a leaking wheel seal. So much for an easy set of days off just tinkering.

I've often found caliper failures causing that. Hopefully for you it's not all junk. Those are a bugger, and quite expensive for rotor and caliper.

Wish i had seen it last tuesday/wed, had taken the week off to help my neighbor on his bathroom, this could have been getting fixed already, instead, 60 miles into my first trip of the week im down for while... least i was close and my mechanic is reasonably fast, not terribly busy and kinda on the cheaper side.

(Hes a good mechanic, he'd be slammed if he ever advertised or actually looked to get buisness, no interest, have a feeling im going to need to find a new one/become one soon though cause hes ready to retire)
