Yep. Roads I know have been changed since I started driving are still not updated. The magnet mount really isn't too bad though. Has pins it locks on to keep it from moving. I also set mine up where it's resting on the dash so the magnet and pins don't support the weight. They just keep it upright. My gripe on the mount is the suction cup. Even like it is now the suction cup will just randomly come loose.

 

Hmmm...I always mount it to the dash, below the dashboard...that's probably why the vibrations are so rough on it, but I put it there because I can't stand anything in the windshield.

 

I first had it mounted to a hole in the dash of the 579 I used to drive. No arm just the screw where the pivot bolted to the arm. Never had it fall off then either. Don't really have that realestate in the t800 I have now so it went in the bottom corner of the windshield. Not a fan of stuff in the window either.

 

Understand. I've seen some pretty sparse landscape on dashes lately. Alll the trucks I've been shopping for, it's one of the first things I look for. Plenty of guages and enough dash real estate to put the GPS. I tried the cup holder one, one time. Looking down instead of level and forward just didn't sit right with me so I went with the bean bag one on top of the dash on the one truck. Like you said, not ideal, but you do what you have to.

 

I've got a ram mount ball on my dash off to the right. Find a mount setup for the GPS and eld to use that when I switch
