Running a weight station is kind of like speeding. Regardless or intentional or accidental, you did it. If you get caught, you get caught and pay the consequences. But, as others have mentioned, there's a good chance nothing will come of it. If they didn't run you down right away, I'd say you got lucky and got away with it. Some weigh stations say they are photo inforced, meaning you, or your company, could get a ticket in the mail. But, I've never heard of that actually happening to anyone. But, have sen them run down a Western Express truck for running the weight station. He was in front of me and it was on US Highway 95 in Idaho where they didn't even a prepass system. As I was turning in, the police car left to go chase him. After rolling through the weigh station and getting back on the highway, police had him pulled over about a mile down the road.

Are there different rules for "Ports of Entry" vs. weigh stations? I remember pulling onto a Wyoming Port of Entry a few weeks ago, it was crowded, and there was a sign flashing in the pull over area that said "Trucks not needing permits may proceed".

Wyoming is an IFTA state, I had an IFTA sticker, and so I assumed I was one of those trucks who didn't need to complete any kind of "Entry" rigamarole?

They usually tell you to bypass.
    There are overhead signs.
    Otherwise they'll call you in.
They'll check the cab card, the insurance pink slip and the truck safety.
    Most of the time.
