marten transport- A+ company to drive for

I went back and reread his post, you are right, he had the log violation over him, the mirror scratch was the coup de grace.

 

That's pretty much it. I had the violation due to the fact I forgot to change my duty status before I started for the day. As luck would have it, I got pulled in for a Level II that day and passed, but got a warning about the log. I then had the mirror bump and received 8 points since I was in my first 12 months. About a month later, I was given a load up to Friedley, MN and told to go to Mondovi as I would be getting a new truck. I received my new truck, spent the night at the terminal, and while waiting to get dispatched the next morning got a message from safety asking me to come in.

I was on a bus home several hours later. My dispatcher didn't even know I was getting fired which I found kind of amusing, either that or he's a really good actor when I told him about it while trying to get the necessary PO's for some layover pay I was owed.

For the record, they did pay everything they owed me and didn't "make up" any extra charges to offset my final pay.

 

I guess our firings were a result of their campaign to increase their safety rating. Funny thing was, about a week before I went to orientation I was chatting with a former truck school friend and he warned me to be careful as they fire you on the drop of a hat. I had so many stars in my eyes, I don't remember him saying it, until he reminded me of it later, lol

 

I guess the new truck was a Greyhound bus.

Actually I received my new truck got moved in, then got the ax. Don't see why they would actually go through the trouble of putting me in the truck if it was preplanned.

 

I don't think my DM knew I got fired. I was down in San Diego for home-time when a HR chick from Mondovi called and said I was "separated" from Marten. Good thing I was turned around in my car, I was on my way to Wallyworld to stock up before I returned to the truck. The incident happened on a Sat afternoon, so I left messages with Safety and called them back on the following Monday. Later in the morning I was released.
My buddy is hanging in there, but always has his eyes open for a better opportunity.

 

just saying hi to every one out there and wanted to say i will be going to orientation for marten this week and i honestly feel i have made the right decision to go with marten

I made it to the hotel for marten transport today, it is a lot nicer than the last hotel i was sent to for orientation A + to marten for this one.
