@Chinatown just because I'm curious (I'm currently VERY gainfully employed), what ya got info wise for companies in the Idahofall/Pocatello, ID area.
Endorsements: Doubles/Triples, Tanker (NOT interested in Hazmat)
Experience: Been driving full time since Nov 2017. Over 500k (verifiable) miles accident free in that time, mostly OTR Reefer and Dry Van, some local of the same.
Currently pulling Double Tankers hauling fertilizer. Been in and out of trucks for over 20 years. Have pulled livestock, flatbed, double flats, Tanker, double tankers, bulk beds of various types, some dump truck.
Probably close to 750k miles total under my belt, but some of that isnt verifiable.
Theoretically looking for starting annual salary of $70k+, home nightly (or most every night), very little micro management BS, no slip seating, able to take truck home, smoker and family friendly.
Probably a pretty tall order but, as I said, I'm just curious what ya come up with... Always good to know what opportunities are out there.
Chinatown whatchya got in...

Know anything about Handy Truck Line, or is that the company you're with now?
Cattleman84 and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
Been my experience, there's a fine line between "curious" and "take this job and shove it". It's okay, this is America, and you can actually better yourself, and you want a better job, in trucking, now's not the time. The first 2 items( $70K, home nightly) are doable, the rest is a pipe dream, sorry. Management is peskier than ever, any "home nightly" job forfeits the "bring truck home, no slip seating" thing,, family,,meh, and a smoker, you are worse than Hitler( in their health insurance eyes)
Times are pretty shaky right now, and if you have a decent job, I'd hold off to see how bad this countrys situation will get.Zoltan1a, Lonesome, Flat Earth Trucker and 2 others Thank this. -
Where I am now is pretty close to what I want... Got my own truck home every night unless I choose otherwise. I can take the truck home when I end my day near home. I get to do other stuff besides just drive... Which can be good AND bad, LOL
The pay is good, VERY good for this area... And even better for this company... Considering what most the employees make. But its alot of overtime in the spring and summer, then a bare 40 through the winter.Another Canadian driver, Suspect Zero and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
I don't know of anything better than that. You're in a good situation.
Maybe you can find something with Trillium to do in the winter and just don't say anything about it.
Trillium is a temp service for CDL drivers and you work when you want to.Another Canadian driver, Cattleman84, Suspect Zero and 1 other person Thank this. -
I actually just changed companies a shirt time ago to get closer to what I want. It's pretty #### close too... Just a little shy on pay.Another Canadian driver and Chinatown Thank this. -
If my regular guy ever up and leaves, you’ll be my first call……
Cattleman84 and Another Canadian driver Thank this.
