Okay, so far, I managed to see if there was current running through the connection to the trailers. When I checked with the 2 wires that are supposed to run current. One would work with the switch flicked open while the other would not. The funny thing is that these were working fine up until a month ago and now all of a sudden the other wired switch only runs current when closed rather than open.

Before all this was checked, I was hauling material 2 weeks prior and the gates would open and then suddenly close or not open at all. Seemed like the dam gates/switches were playing pranks on me each time so I had to disconnect the wire to the trailer to prevent them from accidentally opening on the road. I told someone about it and they wouldn't believe that either the front trailer gates would open and then automatically close or that they would open but then wouldn't close.

After all that I simply manually unloaded each time. So now I'm trying to figure out what the deal is. If anyone has had any issues with their gates opening and closing by themselves, any insight would be highly appreciated. (will be updating this post as I look into the problem in due time)

Safety chains...use them. I did bottom dumps, sometimes electrical problems with the switches
