I have left my drivers seat and no not to work the drive thru either. , I am in the Army again as an instructor part time until i get a full time slot. if all you are going to do is bag on the drivers that are telling you how it is then maybe you should start a i love Central thread of your own because no one on here will sugar coat anything if you want lies that all is great you wont get that here on my thread.

not every one gets a dedicated run the key word DEDICATED because of where they live.

Listen here jasper.. Come on in buddy.. You'll love the company.. Man.. Miles are decent and sometimes you don't get home for 2-4 after you've requested.. Also.. You may only bring home 300 bucks a week or two outta the time your workin out here!! But you can say you have a job.. Your car, house, personal affects.. Might have to be sold to eat out here.. But buddy.. You got a job!!!!!!!!!!

Hahaha.. Were not being bitter.. Ill tell ya tho..what keeps me here instead of flippin burgers with my buddy at mcd's? I'm a few months from a week paid vacation.. Plus I'm honestly just like all the other people.. I have a dream to one day work for a flatbed company.. In a nice w9 studio sleeper.. And atleast make 500 a week..

I just don't want ya'll to come in.. Just because its the "only" job around.. Wal-mart,kmart,lowe's,home depot.. Just to name a few.. Always hire.. You just gotta wanna work bub.. I promise.. Unless of course your like me and live in a town with 200 people and the nearest job place is 25+ miles.. But still.. Just don't make this your only option...

:biggrin_2556: I'm beginning to wonder if some the wannabe's are beginning to believe we don't want new drivers so we can keep all the perks of Central to ourselves?

Is Central a good company? As a place to get your feet wet... yes.
Is Central a bad company? They are as bad as any other company in this economy.

What most on here are trying to say is that maybe there are better opportunities right now than the trucking industry. An industry that across the board (with some exceptions) treats the backbone of the industry (drivers) poorly. An industry full of businesses that are trying to hold on to what they have while fighting off low bidders for the freight they haul and high fuel costs. The result of this is low freight rates which have an end result in low driver pay and loss of benefits, meanwhile the govt is coming out with new regulation enforcement (CSA2010) and in the process of reconfiguring H.O.S. regulations at the whim of anti trucking special interests groups.

Blah blah blah blah, blah blah blah! Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.

    Oh screw it......

So this bear walks into a bar..........

The answers are all over this forum, but.....

Yes they have a school. Riverside CA, Salt Lake City, and Conley GA.

Recent CDL'ers(?) You would have to go thru their refresher course if they still offer it.

I went through their school since I failed to maintain my CDL from MS.

After school and obtaining your CDL you go out with a trainer for approximately four weeks.

I see you're from Long Beach MS. That's a nice area. I lived down there for 10 years in Gulfport, Pass Christian and Gautier (yes I know how to properly pronounce the last 2). I spent a good portion of my career on the SeaBee Base, back when the only people wearing camouflage on the base was security and our unit. But I digress....

A bear walks into a bar and takes a seat, when a parrot flys in and lands on the bears head....

All I can say at this point is .................

    Thanks to all of you.

After spending the last five days reading the thread from the beginning you all have shed a lot of light on the company.

    To those with questions.

Read from the beginning and watch a bunch of fairly enthusiastic people start out for what may have been a decent starter company, only to have the deal change many times over the last two years. Money and bonuses taken away, shorter and shorter miles etc...

Some have lost their homes and more.

By the time you get to the middle it sounds like a recruiting thread for CRS. Now ..... well.... not so much. :biggrin_25513:

I sense a lot of bitterness in some of the post on this forum.

Everybody has a story of how they got screwed by Central, but the reality is every company in the world screws over their employees.

I worked for the same poultry company for eight years and then got tossed out on my can for a minor violation of a major rule.

So, you guys can be bitter, that's your right. But the make little smart ### comments about new drivers (ie the post about new drivers coming on down so the old hands have time to stop and smell the roses).

Sorry, I just get frustrated. Us new guys and wannabe's look up to the people with experience, but the the attitudes are getting sort of ugly around here.

Stay out 364 days and gross 200,000 as a o/p trainer..

it seems the people who complain the most have less than 1 or 2 years experience . is that really enough time to decide that this is such a terrible industry having only worked at central ? just curious,i have a lot of respect for you guys that stick it out without bashing the hand that is currently feeding you...
