Randomly maybe 1-3 times a day my trucks cuts out Randomly like it's not getting fuel. Only does it for a fraction of a second and usually getting on it or pulling a hill.
Fuel tanks are full. Just replaced fuel filter last weekend. Checked the small filter screen as well.
Any thoughts on what to check?

Caterpillar? Cam position sensor.

I see it now. ♂️ I believe there is a sensor similar on a Cummins. Possibly.

Could be an electrical issue like ecm loosing ignition power, cam position sensor issue or dead spot in throttle pedal. does it do it when in cruise control mode?
A quick pause in power like you describe I would be looking at an electrical problem. -
Had a DD16 in a company Coronado that would do that. Driving down the road and it would shut down and you’d pull over and start right back up and go. It’ll suck but start looking for a broken wire in the harness.

It does have a cam position sensor tucked nicely in behind the air compressor. 5/8” deep socket. Cut a notch out of it. Then you can get onto the sensor and back it. Check the wires closely as they get oil soaked back in there.
